Life comes with an abundance of celebrations and milestone birthdays, but I think that the very first one is the absolute best. I know that this birthday baby won’t remember his celebration later, but in the moment, as he is showered with loved and presented with his first birthday cake, he displayed pure, infectious joy. And the first birthday is just as exciting for parents, too! Their babies have magically grown into toddling individuals—full of vibrant personality and energy—in mere months! This is definitely a milestone worth celebrating as a family. They may not remember the day itself, but I firmly believe that they WILL remember the love and happiness they felt.

Anchor’s Away on an Amazing Adventure

This handsome one-year-old had no problem celebrating his big day. His birthday session was just too cute as he took one look at his birthday cake and got to smashing. I think that he enjoyed playing with the cake more than eating it.

The theme of this shoot was perfect for this little guy. We used a nautical themed background with whales and anchors to match his nursery, and it was such a good fit for his personality. I couldn’t help but smile at his delightful squeals and giggles.
