Green, yellow and gold baby boy Cake Smash

It feels like just yesterday that I photographed this cutie for his newborn photos! Now he’s back to celebrate his first birthday with us at the studio! I love when my little friends return and I get to see how they have grown. The giggles and smiles he gave during his session were pure joy… I’d say he had a ton of fun during our time together.

The pre-cake photos started off with some playtime. The blocks and stacking rings were a big hit for this guy. I love using neutral toys in photographs to keep the portraits timeless. Toys are a great prop to use at this age so baby has something to interact with and bring out their personality at this milestone! I have plenty of items, but I also encourage clients to bring personal items as well that we can use as needed.

The cake smash backdrop was a fun one to put together! Instead of opting for the typical blue color scheme, we mixed it up with some greens, golds and whites in the balloon garland per Mom’s request. Subtle greenery and fairy lights added a bit more detail to the simplistic set up. His little yellow trousers with suspenders definitely competed the look.
